Middle Street is located in the Galle Fort. The basic form of the original house was more or less intact, especially the main entrance façade. It's simple decorative distempered lime stonewalls and pivot timber glazed shutteres were retained. This orignal façade enclosed the street side veranda and acted as a sound baffler from the outside world.

The client wanted to create a house that was classica and clean-lined in composition. The internal layour and new colonnaded verandas are in balance, reminiscence of the British Colonial era.

The house is simple yet sophisticated, well proportioned and finely detailed. A plunge pool and a yoga sun terrace enjoy a private loacation on the first floor.
