RA Designs is a ‘Design and Build’ company. We create elegant architecture and interiors with precision and informality for unique individuals.
The process of designing and building a house is not one individual task but the result of a complex team effort. We have an in-house team of engineers, CAD (Computer Aided Design) draftsman, quantity surveyors, landscape technicians and locally trained craftsmen. None of our work would be possible without them.
The majority of our projects take influence from Asian and Sri Lankan architecture designed for 21st century contemporary living. Each project is unique to every client. We design with sensitivity and attention to detail to create a harmonious environment for the end user.
Our Process
At a project’s inception, we carefully consider every detail in a client’s brief. This helps us to develop the concept with precision and flair in beautifully hand drawn watercolor concept designs by Ranjan Aluwihare – BA (Hons) CSD. These drawings offer a unique form of graphical communication that helps our clients understand and engage in our conceptual designs.
Once the client has approved the concept, we develop detailed plans and elevations with our CAD team. It is at this stage that clients have the opportunity to make revisions and adjustments before final plans are approved by our team of surveyors, engineers and landscape technicians. Once signed off, building work commences with our hands-on specialist contractor team.
Throughout the duration of the project we develop and discuss every minute detail, from the foundations up to the designing of a bespoke kitchen or a unique piece of furniture. At RA designs, we create unique projects that take our clients on a stress-free journey from concept to completion.
Our Partner
Shakticola was established in 2012, we are an architectural design & construction project management company based in Southern Sri Lanka. Our-team of nine, design and oversee building projects for clients and investors from around the world. Our project portfolio includes luxury villas, hotels and resorts. We like to build close relationships with our clients so that we can understand, interpret and transform their ideas into buildings.
For the majority of our projects we undertake the full architectural design, but we also work with external client appointed architects and designers. Whatever type of building you want to create, our meticulous attention to detail and established relationships with trusted professionals and contractors allow us to meet a quality of finish that justifies your investment. Crucially, our experienced team understands how to overcome the challenges of building in Sri Lanka.
